Kyiv City Administration Head Promises to Preserve Foundation of Tithe Church

The foundation of the Tithe Church is to be preserved intact. No new building is to be built, the head of the Kyivan City State Administration, Oleksandr Popov, said during a trip to the archeological excavation site on Mount Shchekavytsia, reported the press service of the administration.

“Kyiv is a city with an extremely rich history and traditions. Our common task and responsibility to our descendants is to preserve the historic and architectural uniqueness of the capital,” stressed Popov.

In addition, the head of the city administration noted that he completely agrees with the Director of the Institute of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Petro Tolochko, that any construction on the foundation of the Tithe Church is unacceptable.

“It is a holy place for Kyiv and Kyivans. Therefore, the only acceptable and right solution is to preserve the foundation of the Tithe Church,” stressed Popov.
