Luhansk authorities prepare for Patriarch of Moscow's visit

On September 15, at 9:30 a.m., at the Theatre Square in the Eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow will celebrate a Divine Liturgy.

On September 15, at 9:30 a.m., at the Theatre Square in the Eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow will celebrate a Divine Liturgy, the head of the Department on Internal Policy of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, Maria Borzenko, said today at a briefing, Cxid.info reports

Approximately 15 thousand residents of the Luhansk Oblast are expected to attend the event. Transport will be provided for people from the region's towns and districts. Water and raincoats will be distributed to the believers in need thereof. First-aid posts will be opened.

After the event, the patriarch will lay flowers at the grave of the unknown soldier and will meet with WWII veterans.

On September 14, in the Cathedral of St. Volodymyr, the patriarch will address the believers. Screens will be installed outside to make sure everyone can watch the hierarch’s address.

The patriarch will also bless newly married couples near the Statue of the Holy Virgin.
