The Administrative Circuit Court of the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk prohibited the regional branch of the nationalist association Svoboda to hold an action to protest against the visit of  Patriarch Kirill of Moscow. So reported to UNIAN a member of the regional branch of Svoboda, Iryna Mahrytska.

According to her, yesterday in the evening, a meeting was held in the Luhansk City Council with the participation of the mayor, his deputies and all the heads of departments where the visit of the patriarch was discussed.

“And this morning, the court prohibited any actions of protest, including those of Svoboda Association. We were going to hold a peaceful action to tell the people that we are for the establishment of the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church and who Patriarch Kirill is in reality. But the court and the city authorities are afraid to hear an alternative opinion,” said I. Mahrytska.

She noted that Svoboda Association is a law-abiding political force and will not violate the court’s decision.
