Masked men abduct deputy director of Crimean Madrassah after search

“They searched everything in the building, including the personal belongings of the children. Nothing suspicious was ever found, states the press-service. Several computers were seized and deputy director of the madrassah Ayder Osmanov was abducted. Men in camouflage uniforms featuring the word ‘Berkut’ introduced themselves as the FSB of Russia officers. They did not explain their actions”.

According to the Spiritual Administration of Crimean Muslims, the children were asleep during the visit of ‘Berkut’ officers. Some 30 officers broke into the premises of the religious institution. As a result of a search the doors and windows of the madrassah building were broken.

Around 6:30 am on June 24 unknown persons also broke the doors of the residence of the deputy director of Kolchugino madrassah. At that time Ayder Osmanov stayed there with his wife and two children (a four year old daughter and an 11 months old son). In morning chairman of local Majlis Aziz Sadykov arrived to the scene. He was admitted to the madrassah premises make sure that children were safe.

The search lasted about 5 hours from 6.30 am to 11.30 pm, Krym.Realii website reports.
