A Ministry of Culture and Information Policy commission has begun its work at the Kremenets-Pochayiv State Historical and Architectural Reserve to check the state of preservation of the state property.
This is reported by the press service of the MCIP, Ukrinform reports.
As noted, the acting Minister of Culture, Rostyslav Karandieiev, instructed the commission to check the preservation of the real estate of the reserve, which was transferred to the UOC-MP for free use in December 2003. It is a complex of buildings of the Pochayiv Monastery.
"Such checks and inspections should take place periodically and systematically. This is actually an observation of the condition of our national monuments. Today, we are talking about one of the national shrines. We are currently interested in the preservation of the buildings and the extent to which fire safety is being observed. In addition, we are also interested in preserving icons, iconostases, and other things as an integral part of the monuments of the complex. All these things have been described and are subject to verification. The commission's work has just begun. This is the first inspection visit," explained Olha Rutkovska, the head of the commission and head of the division for coordination of cultural institutions of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
Based on the results of the inspection, the commission will draw up the relevant acts.
The Ministry noted that on May 24, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage issued an order to establish a commission to inspect the preservation of the state property of the Kremenets-Pochayiv State Historical and Architectural Reserve located in the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra.
