A Catholic church of the 14th-15th century caught on fire on Wednesday night in the village of Susidovychi of the Lviv Region of Ukraine.
The fire station received a call at 1:43 a.m. Six fire trucks immediately came to the site, the Emergency Control Ministry told Interfax. The first fire fighters arrived to see 180 square meters of the roof on fire. The fire was extinguished about 4:00 a.m.
According to a local priest, the church building and property of an overall amount of one million UAH (about 125 thousand dollars) were saved.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
