Metropolitan Epifaniy commemorated during Bulgarian Patriarch's visit to Phanar

Patriarch Daniel, the Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, made an official visit to Istanbul from December 25 to 28. This marks his first official trip to the Ecumenical Patriarchate since his election in 2024.

This was reported by Orthodox Ukraine, citing the Bulgarian media.

Representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Patriarch Daniel held a prayer of thanksgiving at the Cathedral of St. George in Phanar.

During the visit, Patriarch Daniel was officially welcomed by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and members of the Holy Synod. The Divine Liturgy, attended by both Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch Daniel at St. George's Cathedral, included the commemoration of Metropolitan Epifaniy as the primate of the Ukrainian Church.
