The parish of Metropolitan Oleksandr (Drabynko) of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vyshneve moved from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The hierarch said this during the morning Liturgy on Wednesday, December 19, at the Savior Transfiguration Cathedral in Kyiv.

According to Glavkom, on December 18, a meeting of the parish council headed by former MP from the Party of Regions Ihor Lisov took place. The meeting resolved positively the issue of the transition of the community from the UOC-MP to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Metropolitan Oleksandr (Drabynko) will continue to serve in the Transfiguration Cathedral in Kyiv, Teremky city district.

During the morning liturgy, he thanked the parishioners for such a decision.

As reported, Metropolitan Oleksandr (Drabynko) was one of the Metropolitans of the UOC-MP, who, despite the threat of the ban of his leadership, took part in the Unification Council. After that, Metropolitan Oleksandr and Symeon were banned from ministry by the Synod of the UOC-MP.

It should be noted that the parish of Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnitsa passed to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine the day after its formation at the Unification Council.
