During the Sunday sermon at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, in Howell, N.J, USA, Metropolitan Onufriy thanked the Orthodox believers of America for their support of the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
In particular, he said: “Today we are facing difficult times - human blood is being shed in Ukraine. Nothing can justify the murder, because there is always a peaceful solution to all problems. We always speak about it, witness and pray for peace.
I know that here you are praying for peace in Ukraine. God gives us a test and we must pass it without losing both Christian and human dignity. In this life one cannot live without trials, wherever they lived: in America, Australia, Ukraine there are different challenges that have a painful impact on human life,” UNIAN religion reports.
