Metropolitan Volodymyr Conducts Pilgrimage to Jerusalem

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate led a pilgrim group from Ukraine to the Holy Land. First of all, Metropolitan Volodymyr visited the Mount Tabor. On September 7, the hierarch served a liturgy there.

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) led a pilgrim group from Ukraine to the Holy Land. First of all, Metropolitan Volodymyr visited the Mount Tabor. On September 7, the hierarch served a liturgy there.   Metropolitan Volodymyr prayed for the Ukrainian nation and leaders of the state and read out commemoration notes received at the e-mail address of the website of the UOC-MP.

According to the visit's program, the head of the UOC will celebrate a liturgy at the Sepulchre in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ. The pilgrims will also perform an ablution ritual in the river Jordan.

Then, the ministers and believers will visit: the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem, the city Capernaum, Church of Mary the Magdalene, Mount Zion, Church of the Birth of Christ in Bethlehem, Monastery of Theodosius the Great, Monastery of St. Sabbas the Priest , Town Residence of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Hebron, Residence in Jericho, Monastery of Venerable Gerasimus of Jordan, tomb of St. Lazarus, Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, Church of the Holy First martyr Steven, Alexandrian residence in Jerusalem.
