Metropolitan Volodymyr Gives Blessing for Project of Conservation of Tithe Church Foundation

Metropolitan Volodymyr gave his blessing for the realization of the architectural project envisaging the preservation of the ancient foundations of the Tithe Church, their permanent maintenance in proper museum conditions with access for believers and tourists.

Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine received the Superior of the Tithe Monastery in Kyiv, Archimandrite Gedeon (Kharon), in his residence in St. Panteleimon’s Monastery.

During the audience, Archimandrite Gedeon presented to the head of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate an architectural project “Conservation and modern museification, completion of archeological exploration of the Starokyivska Hill with the remnants of the foundations of the Tithe Church, the territory of the archeological monument of the national importance “'Dytynets of the ancient Kyiv of the 8th-10th centuries with the foundation of the Tithe Church of the 10th century.'”
