Metropolitan Volodymyr Met with Foreign Affairs Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov

On Bright Friday Metropolitan Volodymyr met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov who came on an official visit to Ukraine.

KYIV – On Bright Friday at the residence of the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) at the Kyiv Cave Monastery, Metropolitan Volodymyr met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov who came on an official visit to Ukraine, reports the press service of the UOC-MP.

In the course of the meeting the minister delivered the award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation "For contribution in international cooperation," and the UOC primate offered the high guest an Easter egg and the book “A Prayer for Victory,” highlighting the prayerful feat of the Orthodox Church during WWII.

During his visit to the monastery, Sergey Lavrov laid flowers at the tomb of a prominent Russian diplomat E.V. Putiatin, who rests at the monatery cemetery at the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos at the Far Caves of the Kyiv Cave Monastery.
