Metropolitan Volodymyr Ordains New Archbishop

Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) on April 22 led a liturgy in the Church of St. Antony and Theodosius of the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

During the liturgy, the metropolitan ordained Bishop Nykodym of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynskyi archbishop on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Primate’s ministry and in view of the church merits of the bishop.

The metropolitan also canonized Archbishop Antonii (Abashidze) who died in 1942, reported the website of UOC-MP.
