Minister Avakov: Ministry of Interior will respond decisively to religious enmity and extremism

Arsen Avakov, Minister of Interior, said that in connection with the launch of the process of granting autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasizes the inadmissibility of acts of arbitrariness and extremism on the grounds of religious hostility or intolerance, and calls on political and public figures to refrain from provocations and attempts to destabilize the situation in the country, the Ministry of Interior reported.

“I make a call not to allow provocations and speculations. The Ministry of Interior will ensure security and lawful order. If there is a need to counteract extremism and religious hatred it will get a convincing response. Let it not become a surprise for all the 'hot heads'," the head of the Ministry of Interior emphasized.
