Minister of Culture To Pass to Roman Catholics Part of Heritage of Voznytskyi

The Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Mykhailo Kulyniak intends to pass to the Roman Catholics two large battle scene paintings of Altamonte for which the late Director of the Lviv Gallery of Arts, Hero Of Ukraine, Borys Voznytskyi reconstructed exposition rooms in the Zolochiv Castle.

The Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Mykhailo Kulyniak intends to pass to the Roman Catholics two large battle scene paintings of Altamonte for which the late Director of the Lviv Gallery of Arts, Hero of Ukraine, Borys Voznytskyi reconstructed exposition rooms in the Zolochiv Castle.

This information was received by a correspondent of IA ZIK from confidential sources.

According to a source close to the authorities, tomorrow, the Minister of Culture, Mykhailo Kulyniak and Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, Andrii Vinhranovskyi are expected to arrive in Lviv in order to agree with other officials and the Polish side upon the transfer to the Polish Catholic Church of St. Lavrentii in Zhovkva, the two unique battle scene pictures which have been recently restored ad which belong to the stock of exhibits of the Lviv National Gallery.

This news has alarmed not only the employees of the gallery but all the people who were informed of the plans of the late Borys Voznytskyi to exhibit the paintings in the Oleskyi and Zolochiv Castles.
