Ministry of Culture of Ukraine Establishes Department on Religions and Nationalities

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine approved the structure of its central apparatus which consists of 4 departments and 7 boards.

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine approved the structure of its central apparatus which consists of 4 departments and 7 boards, reports the Institute For Religious Freedom.

The structure of the ministry now includes a Department on Religions and Nationalities.

The new department will include:

Department of expert-analytical work and relations with religious organizations,

Department of registration of statutes and statistical registration of religious organizations,

Department of promotion of international, social and humanitarian activity of religious organizations,

Department of national minorities of Ukraine and Ukrainian diaspora,

Sector of language policy.

Let us remind the readers that on December 9, 2010, Ukraine’s President issued a decree by which he liquidated the State Committee on Nationalities and Religions despite repeated requests of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and transferred its functions to the Ministry of Culture.
