"It is no secret that the Pope loved Russia and hoped to visit it, but it didn't happened during his earthly life. However now when he is glorified by the Church there are no political or other boundaries that can prevent everyone who asks for his protection from communicating with him," the message reads.

This May the late pontific was beatified which means he was glorified as the beatified.

Beatification forestalls canonization as saint. It became possible when a French nun who suffered from Parkinson syndrome was healed after praying to John Paul II.
