Patriarch Kirill of Moscow thanked the bishops, clergy, and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) for their generous and warm meeting. In a letter to the head of the UOC-MP, he wrote that this year’s visit left a great impression on him, especially his service in the St. Sophia Cathedral, “an ancient cathedral of our church.”

As informs the press service of the UOC-MP, the Moscow Patriarch was also pleased by his visit to the Kyiv Cave Monastery and learning about the social work done in the Iona Monastery.

We remind that Patriarch Kirill has visited Ukraine three times since his election as the head of the Russian Orthodox Church in January 2009. His last visit took place from July 20-28, 2010.
