Mufti of Crimea: Government Will Answer to God for Actions

“Our first and primary task is to serve humanity, and for this we need to be tolerant and patient so that in this country, in our blessed land, there was no bloodshed.”

The Mufti of Muslims of Crimea Haji Emirali Ablaev wished the Ukrainian authorities prudence and patience, as a person chosen by the will of the people is responsible for them, the head of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Crimea (SDMC) said during his speech at a rally in Crimea against dictatorship in Ukraine, held January 28 in Akmesdzhyti (Simferopol).

“Our first and primary task is to serve humanity, and for this we need to be tolerant and patient so that in this country, in our blessed land, there was no bloodshed,” the mufti said in his speech.

At the rally, Father Volodymyr of the UOC-KP wished peace and tranquility to the participants of the EuroMaidan demonstrations. He said a prayer for the repose of the dead protesters.

Nearly 3,000 people attended the Crimean rally against dictatorship in Ukraine. The demonstration started with the national anthem of Ukraine, and was followed by the national anthem of the Crimean Tatar people.

Participants in the rally, which was organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, demanded that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine immediately abolish the laws adopted January 16, release imprisoned EuroMaidan participants, restore the rights of the Crimean Tatars, and ensure representation of Crimean Tatars Crimean in the parliament.

The participants unanimously adopted a resolution that reflected all their demands, the SDMC press service reported.
