Mufti of Crimean Muslims to be expelled from Mejlis, Dzhemilev says
Crimean Tatar Mejlis set to decide in the near future on expulsion from the representative body of the Mufti of Crimean Muslims Emirali Ablayev.
MP Mustafa Dzhemilev, a leader of the Crimean Tatar people, said it in an interview with Radio Liberty Project ‘Krym.Realiyi’.
According to him, Ablaev “has become a dummy in the hands of the occupying power.”
‘Krym.Realiyi’ is trying to get a commentaryfrom Mufti of Crimean Muslims Emirali Ablayev regarding the statement of the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev.
In late August 2015 in Ankara, Chairman of Mejlis Refat Chubarov met with Mufti of Crimean Muslims Emirali Ablayev. The results of this meeting were interpreted differently by its participants. Chubarov spoke about the constructive dialogue with Ablaev, while the latter said that there was no “concrete proposals on the situation of the Crimean Tatars in Crimea.” The Russian side said that Chubarov and his aides attacked the delegation led by the Mufti.
