New Director of Department of Religious and Ethnic Affairs Appointed

The Minister of Culture of Ukraine appointed Volodymyr Yushkevych the Director of the Department of Religious and Ethnic Affairs, the press service of the Ministry confirmed on March 7, the Institute for Religious Freedom reported.

Volodymyr Yushkevych graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv. In 2011 he received a PhD in philosophical sciences, with a specialty in Ukrainian studies. His PhD dissertation was on the topic “The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the Social and Political Life of Ukrainians in North America in 1870-1939.” Some of the research for his dissertation was conducted in the United States.

We remind that the Department of Religious and Ethnic Affairs is part of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, which is the specially authorized central body of executive power in the sphere of religion.
