The synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate of July 27 appointed Metropolitan Dymytrii (Rudiuk) head of the Lviv Eparchy and dismissed him from the position of headship of the Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi and Boryspil Eparchy and Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy. The vicar of the Kyiv Eparchy, Bishop Epifanii (Dumeniuk) was appointed as new head of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi and Boryspil Eparchy and Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy. The vicar of the Kyiv Eparchy and Bishop of Vyshhorod is now the superior of St. Michael's Golden Dome Monastery, Archimandrite Ahapit (Humeniuk), reports the press service of the Kyivan Patriarchate.
Bishop Epifanii has also been elected permanent member of the synod according to his post. Metropolitan Dymytrii (Rudiuk) continues to be a permanent member of the Holy Synod.
