Sevastopol City Court upheld the claim by the Ministry of Justice to liquidate the local religious organization Grace, The Church of Evangelical Christians-Baptists and eliminate the data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Interfax has reported.
“The grounds for the court decision became the repeated gross violations of the requirements of the Russian Federation legislation on non-profit organizations, for example, the defendant was obliged to inform the Ministry of Justice about the change of address of the legal entity,” the press service of the court said on Wednesday.
It is clear from the materials of the case that in September 2015 information was entered into the Unified State Register of Legal Entities about the churches of Christian Baptists registered at the address of a multi-apartment building on Mikhailovska Street. The Prosecutor's Office of Sevastopol in April 2016 verified the compliance with legislation on counteraction to extremism in religious associations, and then it turned out that there is no organization available at this address.
“The Ministry of Justice sent requests to provide corrected information on the organization both to the legal entity and its head, but during two years the documents had not been submitted, so the religious association was liquidated in a court procedure,” the court explained.
