On the eve of the Church feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and the state holiday – the day of Ukrainian defenders, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine visited six new heroes who were injured while performing their military duty to defend our homeland in eastern Ukraine.

This is reported by the press service of the Kyiv Metropolia of the OCU.

The soldiers are now in the National Military Medical Clinical Center, where they are undergoing rehabilitation and treatment.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine provided spiritual support to the military servicemen, expressed gratitude for the sacrificial feat in defending Ukraine and wished them a speedy recovery and return to their families.

The first hierarch presented the defenders with prayer books and icons of the Holy Great Martyr George the Trophy-Bearer and stressed that a just peace will certainly reign in Ukraine because the best sons and daughters are at the forefront of the defense of our state.

On this day, October 11, 2021, the Metropolitan also met with the head of the Medical Center, Major General Anatoly Kazmyrchuk, and visited the hospital church, where archpriest Oleg Sknar has been rector for 23 years.
