A proposal was brought to Verkhovna Rada to legislatively prohibit the ideas of the Russian World in Ukraine. It is reported by the parliament’s press-service, according to LIGA.net.

The draft amendments to the law on the condemnation of the Communist and National-Socialist (Nazi) regimes and the ban on the promotion of their symbols have been brought for consideration of the parliamentary committee responsible.

According to one of the authors of the amendments to the law, Oleksandr Shevchenko, the pro-Russian activities in Ukraine under the slogans of “establishing the Russian world” in spring 2014 marked the beginning of a military conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Accordingly, the idea of the Russian World should be recognized as “chauvinistic, fascist and hateful,” Shevchenko wrote on his Facebook page.
