The Simultaneous World Prayer for Ukraine will be held on August 24, the Independence Day of Ukraine. Ukrainians in hundreds of churches around the world will simultaneously pray for their country.

The action will be held with the blessing of the Patriarch of the UGCC Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) and Metropolitan Vasily (Semenyuk) of the Ternopil and Zboriv of the UGCC.

“We want to unite Ukrainians from all over Ukraine and the whole world on the Independence Day of Ukraine at 18:00 (Kyiv), simultaneously performing the Ukrainian spiritual anthem “God Great and One”, so that this singing of Ukrainians simultaneously covered the globe ... Such a large and powerful prayer for Ukraine now, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the UNR, will demonstrate the incredible unity of Ukrainians around the world, their faith in God and Ukraine,” the organizers of the initiative emphasize.

In Ukraine, participating in the project will be church choirs, professional and amateur groups, students and others. Outside Ukraine, members of Ukrainian communities and associations around the world will participate as well as choruses (including churches) whose repertoire includes the above-mentioned work by Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko. To fully synchronize the melody, rhythm, and tonality, it is proposed to perform a version available in the Ukrainian Wikipedia.

In order to start the prayer at the same time, the event organizers suggest that the participants synchronize the clocks using https://time.is/uk/. The prayer in Ukraine will begin at 18.00. At the same time, the campaign in Canada (Edmonton) will start at 9:00.

The detailed information about participation in the prayer can be obtained from its organizer Andriy Kostyuk by phone (Viber, WhatsApp) +380683395414, or by e-mail: molytva2018@gmail.com.
