On the first anniversary of Russia's open military aggression against Ukraine, February 24, 2023, a prayer vigil will be held in the All-Ukrainian Sanctuary of the Mother of God of the Holy Scapularia in Berdichev and a Holy Mass will be served for the end of the war, victory over the enemy and the establishment of a just peace in Ukraine.

The meeting will be led by Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas, Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine. All priests, consecrated persons and laity are invited to participate directly in the liturgical services.

Before this prayer meeting, bishops suggest sending the novena to parish, monastic, family communities or individually, according to their capabilities.

"For nine days, from February 15 to 23 this year, we will pray a litany to the Most Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We encourage all people of good will to join in the Lord's prayer that he may wash away the sins of humanity with his precious and innocent blood and grant us salvation from war and eternal destruction. We sincerely thank all those who join in the common prayer and bless them from the bottom of our hearts," the bishops of the Roman Catholic Church said in their address on the war.
