We call upon all political forces not to provoke violence and not to spread hostility in the media, to refrain from aggression and personal insults, not to fall for provocation and to maintain public order.

We call upon all political forces not to provoke violence and not to spread hostility in the media, to refrain from aggression and personal insults, not to fall for provocation and to maintain public order.

The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations stressed this in its Appeal on the eve of the runoff of the presidential elections in Ukraine, reports the Institute of Religious Freedom.

According to religious leaders, attempts to fuel social hatred only help the enemies of Ukrainian statehood and are used by them for their own benefit.

The Council of Churches called on candidates for the post of the President of Ukraine after the elections to “be ready to cooperate with their political opponents in the name of the common good of the people of Ukraine and the strengthening of the state.”

“In this election, Ukraine must confirm that in spite of the ongoing war and the temporary occupation of a part of its territory, it is and will remain a truly democratic country where the laws are respected and the elections take place exclusively in a democratic way," the AUCCRO reiterates in its appeal.

At the same time, the Council of Churches encourages all citizens of Ukraine to come to the polling stations and consciously fulfill their civic duty. However, “you should under no circumstances ever sell your vote, do not participate in fraud and provocations!”

“We pray for fair and peaceful elections, for the well-being of the people of Ukraine and for the further development of the Ukrainian state!” – the religious figures call upon the Ukrainian citizens.

Earlier, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations urged Ukrainian citizens to vote in elections quietly, peacefully and in prayer, respecting the choice of other people.
