On December 1, local volunteer Rimma Baranenko was killed by Russian shelling.
This was reported by her friend Olena Nazarchuk and Bishop Nikodym of Kherson and Tavria, the administrator of the Kherson Diocese of the OCU, according to Novynarnia.
“Today, on the first day of winter, December 1, at 8:00 a.m., a well-known volunteer and my friend Rimma Baranenko died on the way to church from Russian army's ruthless shelling,” Olena Nazarchuk wrote.
According to her, during the occupation and after the liberation of Kherson, Rimma Baranenko helped Kherson residents and residents of Antonivka village, where she remained living despite constant shelling, lack of water and gas, and took care of stray animals.
Bishop Nikodym added that Baranenko was among the dead passengers of the bus on which Russian terrorists dropped explosives from a drone in the morning.
“She was a believer with an active life position, who spent a lot of energy helping people, restoring justice in society,” the OCU hierarch added.
