The episcopal ordination of the new bishop of Olvia was performed May 26, 2019, during the Divine Liturgy at the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral of Kyiv.

On May 25, 2019, Archimandrite Epifanius (Dimitriou) was nominated as Bishop of Olvia for the Greek Orthodox parishes in Ukraine, as appointed by the decision of the Holy Synod of May 24, 2019 (Journal No. 26).

Archimandrite Epiphanius (Dimitriou), who was elected for the episcopal service, said:

“With this election, I feel incredible responsibility, but I will make every effort to preserve the unity of the Ukrainian Church, as well as the whole Orthodox world, along with the Greek-speaking population of the Ukrainian Church and the recognition among the holy Orthodox local Churches.
