Over UAH 2 million allocated to repair the burn care facility in Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine
In the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on February 20, the official opening of the burn care facility of the Communal Medical Establishment No. 3 took place, for which major repairs were allocated UAH 2 389 560.00. This project was carried out by the executive partner of the "Pope for Ukraine" - the Charity Association “Emmanuel”. “No overhaul has taken place in this department for more than 50 years. Taking into account that since the beginning of the antiterrorist operation, in fact, it has served as the regional burn care facility, and among its patients there are also victims of the bombardments - the problem of its restoration was more than urgent,” said the head of the social department of the Charity Association Emmanuel Halyna Kucher during the opening of the press conference. Within the framework of the financed project, six chambers, a room for sanitary hygiene for patients, an operating room, a preoperative, a manipulative cabinet, a dressing room, a second floor corridor, two bathrooms, a sanitary room with a special bathroom, a doctor's office, staircase malls, and a hall have been completely repaired; water heaters and air conditioners have been installed. In addition, a lifting mechanism (elevator) has been installed in the department to transport bed-bound patients to the second floor to the operating rooms, chambers and resuscitation. According to the head of the burn care facility, Oleg Andreev, its absence was one of the most acute problems - the bed-bound patients with severe burns were taken to the second floor by nurses and doctors. “We also received the toolkit for the treatment of patients with severe burns and new medical equipment, such as, for example, the device of vacuum therapy - this is the most modern method of treatment of burn wounds,” said Oleg Andreev. The ward office in the city of Kramatorsk provides assistance to residents of the entire north of the Donetsk region, assuming a lion's share of all patients - 800 people per year. The press conference and open departments were also attended by deputy mayor of the city Yuriy Lyulka, chief doctor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine # 3 Olena Katalnikova and representatives of the regional health department who thanked the “Pope for Ukraine” and the Charity Association “Emmanuel” for assistance in repairs and modernization of a medical institution.
