Patriarch Filaret Awards Metropolitan in Lviv

On 3-5 December, Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine visited the Lviv-Sokal Eparchy.

On November 5, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Patriarch Filaret, met with the Mayor of Lviv Andrii Sadovyi. “Galicia is in the lead as far as enlightenment is concerned,” noted the patriarch.

The participants also discussed questions of the harmful influence of alcohol on the development of children and on adults. Patriarch Filaret supported the initiative of Lviv to limit children's access to alcohol, reported the press service of the Lviv City Council.

On December 3-5, Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine visited the Lviv-Sokal Eparchy on the occasion of the Feast of Presentation in the Temple on the invitation of Metropolitan Dymytrii of Lviv and Sokal.

Last Sunday, Patriarch Filaret led a liturgy at the Holy Intercession Cathedral in Lviv. After the liturgy, he presented the Order of the Holy Prince Volodymyr Equal-to-the Apostles of the 2nd degree.
