Patriarch Filaret Gives Blessing for Rebuilding of Cathedral Destroyed by Communists

On May 27, Patriarch Filaret of the Kyivan Patriarchate made a pastoral visit to St. Nicholas’s Monastery in the town of Bohuslav of the Kyiv Eparchy.

On May 27, Patriarch Filaret of the Kyivan Patriarchate made a pastoral visit to St. Nicholas’s Monastery in the town of Bohuslav of the Kyiv Eparchy.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the renewal of monastic life in the monastery, the patriarch laid a cornerstone in the foundation of the Cathedral of the Holy Assumption, which was demolished by the Soviet regime and is to be rebuilt.

The patriarch celebrated a liturgy and led a procession to the foundation where he consecrated the cornerstone, the press service of UOC-KP reported.
