Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and Georgian Patriarch Ilia II to meet in Kyiv in late July

Archpriest Heorhii Kovalenko of the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate told Izvestiiam that Russian Patriarch Kirill’s visit to Ukraine is planned for the same time as Georgian Patriarch Ilia II’s visit.

Both patriarchs will meet in Kyiv and serve together, demonstrating that the heads of churches of two states between which there are no diplomatic relations can cooperate in the historical center of Orthodox in Rus’ – Kyiv.
