Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III held a memorial service for the innocent victims of the terrorist attack in Kharkiv in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

“As a resident of Kharkiv, I asked the Patriarch to pray for all those killed in the terrorist attack in Kharkiv, for recovery of the wounded and peace in Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Feldman, head of the Ukrainian Interconfessional Forum.

“We pray to the Lord Jesus Christ for a peaceful resolution of the conflict and of all the innocent lives that were victims of the bloody conflict, as well as for soonest recovery of the injured and soonest return of refugees to their homes. We support any efforts aimed at restoring consent, peace and harmony in Ukraine,” he said in the response letter to Patriarch.

Patriarch Theophilus III said that Ukraine needs ecclesial unity: "At the time of church dissent it is difficult to unite people. We must gather and seek unity of the Church,” he said during a meeting with Oleksandr Feldman in Jerusalem, as reported by UNIAN religion.
