Patriarch Sviatoslav Meets with Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine

On January 18 Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine Mykhailo Kulyniak and Deputy Minister Yurii Bohutskyi.

On January 18 Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine Mykhailo Kulyniak and Deputy Minister Yurii Bohutskyi, the Information Department of UGCC reported.

The parties discussed current issues in the life and activity of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine. In particular, they talked about the important role of the church in preserving the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian nation.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church presented to the minister a reprint edition of the Buchach Gospel and the Catechism of the UGCC.

The Buchach Gospel is a Church Slavonic text copied in Ukraine, in Volhynia, in the 12th-13th centuries.
