Patriarch Sviatoslav Visits Kirovohrad

During a pastoral visit of the head of UGCC, Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) to Kirovohrad, the local Greek Catholics presented to the patriarch an Icon of the Mother of God and a picture of the city.

During a pastoral visit of the head of UGCC, Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) to Kirovohrad, the local Greek Catholics presented to the patriarch an Icon of the Mother of God and a picture of the city. The gift was presented by the Dean of Kirivohrad, senior priest of the parish chapel, Fr. Ivan Tretiak. So reported the Information Department of UGCC.

According to the priest, the visit of Patriarch Sviatoslav to Kirovohrad will stimulate the unity of the Greek Catholics in the city and growth of UGCC within the region.

As RISU reported earlier, the Kirovohrad Region today is home to several hundreds of Greek Catholics. Some 200 persons identifying themselves as the faithful of UGCC live in the city.
