He emphasized that the younger generation is a sign of hope for “a different world — a world of fraternity and friendship, where conflicts are not resolved with weapons but with dialogue.”

Pope Leo XIV urged Catholic youth to support Ukraine and work towards creating a world without war. He made this statement on Sunday, August 3, during Mass at the Tor Vergata field near Rome, which drew over a million participants from the Catholic Youth Forum, as reported by Reuters.

“We are with the young people of Gaza. We are with the young people of Ukraine,” said the Pontiff. He emphasized that the younger generation symbolizes hope for “a different world — a world of fraternity and friendship, where conflicts are not resolved with weapons but with dialogue.”

The Mass marked the culmination of a week of events dedicated to Catholic youth as part of the Jubilee Year. In his sermon, the Pope encouraged young men and women to “share their faith and enthusiasm” with everyone they encounter.
