On Wednesday, at the end of the general audience, the Pope expressed regret over the worsening situation in Lebanon and called for prayers for the peoples suffering from the war, including Ukrainians.

This was reported by Vatican News.

The Pontiff expressed regret over the deadly intensive bombing of Lebanon by Israel. He called on the international community to make every effort to stop the escalation, calling it terrible and unacceptable.

The Pope then called on the pilgrims to pray for all the peoples suffering because of the war.

“Let us pray for everyone, for all the peoples who suffer because of the war: let us not forget the martyred Ukraine, Myanmar, Palestine, Israel, Sudan, and all the suffering peoples. Let us pray for peace!” the Pope said.
