Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the representative of the Pope in matters of peace in Ukraine, has expressed criticism towards the European Union. He is urging for greater efforts to bring an end to the ongoing war.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing BR24.

Zuppi remarked, "The EU's current actions are insufficient; they should be significantly more proactive. The EU ought to provide extensive support for initiatives aimed at achieving peace."

He further emphasized that the path to peace cannot be paved with weapons but rather through dialogue.

Previously, Pope Francis expressed his aspiration for a Europe that employs its talents to resolve conflicts.
