Prayer Assemblies on Kyiv Maidan to Continue until Presidential Election

Despite the rain and strong winds, on March 16 several thousand Christians gathered in the capital's Independence Square to pray for peace, unity, and the integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Despite the rain and strong winds, on March 16 several thousand Christians gathered in the capital's Independence Square to pray for peace, unity, and the integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

In prayer assembly was attended by members of the Evangelical Protestant Churches of Ukraine, which was responsible for organizing the event, and representatives of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Institute for Religious Freedom reports.

At the prayer assembly, senior bishop of the Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith of Ukraine Mykhailo Panochko called on all Ukrainians to stand on the foundation of faith and turn to God, who will help bring victory to Ukraine over the Russian invaders.

Mykhailo Panochko suggested to the people on the Maidan to gather every Sunday afternoon for a prayer assembly until the presidential election.
