President Awards Hierarchs of UOC-MP With Orders

On January 22, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych awarded the Secretary of the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Archbishop Oleksandr of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi and Vyshneve with the Order “For Merits.”

On January 22, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych awarded the Secretary of the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Archbishop Oleksandr of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi and Vyshneve with the Order “For Merits” of the Second Degree on the occasion of the Day of Unity.   

The award is presented for a personal contribution in the state-building process, social-economic, scientific and technical, cultural and educational development of the Ukrainian state, considerable professional achievements and diligent work of many years, the presidential press service reported.

The president awarded the head of the Simferopol and Crimea Eparchy of UOC-MP, Metropolitan Lazar (Shvets), with the Order of Yaroslav the Wise of the Fourth degree by the same decree.
