President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko greeted the Jewish community of Ukraine on Passover - one of the most important Jewish holidays, which was set in memory of the withdrawal from Egypt.

“Throughout the centuries this holiday has symbolized joy, freedom and liberation from slavery, reminds us that only a free man can be happy. In the struggle against Russian aggression for the sovereignty and independence of our country, we defend human dignity and freedom, fight for the ideals of truth and justice. The multifaceted activity of the Jewish community promotes the unity of all Ukrainian citizens, and our unity is the key to peace and prosperity of the Ukrainian state. On these holidays I want to wish good health, happiness and well-being,” said Petro Poroshenko in his greeting message, published on the president’s website.
