“We are working with all the denominations. I repeat, with all the denominations of Ukraine. The council run by the presidential administration has become the center of the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus. We have begun our work and there are no contradictions. The members of the council have taken a very right and wise approach to the preparation of the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus,” stated the president.
He stressed that representatives of all the denominations are to receive documents presenting the plan of the celebration in the nearest future.
“We will invite from everywhere like-minded people, our fellow-believers, representatives of other denominations. This is a holy day not only for the Orthodox but also of the choice of civilization…taken by the whole region of the Kyivan Rus. It is the place from which our state began to get stronger. Most importantly, the faith of the people in their own strength and the faith of the people in our God Jesus Christ began to get stronger,” noted Viktor Yanukovych.
