Priest of the UOC-MP killed during shelling in the Donetsk Region

In the Donetsk region, during shelling, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Father Mykolai Fomin, lost his life on January 22, 2024.

This was reported by the press service of the Pokrov Vicariate, according to Pravlife.

The newly ordained priest served as a spiritual leader in the Kurakhiv deanery of the Pokrov Vicariate and was a cleric of the Church of St. Xenia of Petersburg in the village of Zoryane, Maryinsky district, Donetsk region.

The funeral service for Protodeacon Mykolai Fomin will take place on January 24 at the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in the city of Hirnyk.

It is worth noting that according to official data from the UOC-MP, by the end of 2023, due to military actions, 14 clergy members of the UOC lost their lives, 20 clerics were wounded, and 5 are considered missing.
