Primate of the UOC-MP breaks his silence on the war in Ukraine

In connection with the escalation of the military escalation in eastern Ukraine, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate appealed to the faithful to strengthen their prayers for peace in Ukraine.

This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC-MP.

"The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has consistently supported and supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and calls on its faithful to pray for peace in our Ukrainian state and around the world," Metropolitan Onufriy stressed.

"I call on the leaders of states and all those on whom it depends to prevent a new war. War is a grave sin before God!" Said Metropolitan Onufriy.

It is not mentioned which country is the aggressor against Ukraine and who made the decision to recognize the independence of the occupied territories.
