Primate of Ukrainian Orthodox Church Meets with Ambassadors of United States and Republic of Italy

On August 29, Metropolitan Onufriy at his residence in the Kyiv Cave Monastery received the Ambassador of the USA to Ukraine Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt at his request.

On August 29, Metropolitan Onufriy at his residence in the Kyiv Cave Monastery received the Ambassador of the USA to Ukraine Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt at his request. The United States Ambassador paid the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church a courtesy visit and congratulated the archbishop on his election and enthronement to the chair of the Metropolitan of Kyiv.

The same day, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church met with the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Ukraine Mr. Fabrizio Romano. The Italian ambassador congratulated the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the election and enthronement to the chair of the Metropolitan of Kyiv.

The sides exchanged views on the sociopolitical situation in Ukraine. Metropolitan Onufriy told the Italian diplomat about the social service that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church provides to Eastern Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Archpriest Mykola Danylevych.
