Putin announces 'Easter truce'

10 April, 10:05

President Putin announced a temporary ceasefire in the war against Ukraine to commemorate Easter.

This is evidenced by a decision published on the Kremlin’s website, as reported by Ukrinform.

The Kremlin noted that the ceasefire will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026.

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov have been instructed to halt hostilities on all fronts during this period.

At the same time, Russian troops have been ordered to remain on full combat alert.

The Kremlin stated that it expects Ukraine to take similar actions.
