On April 24, Muslims all over the world celebrate the first day of the main month of the year - Ramadan, during which they fast all day, but this year Ramadan coincided with the global coronavirus pandemic, which affected the order of traditional events, according to the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine. This is reported by Interfax.

"For example, the usual collective prayers that used to be held annually in mosques will now be held at home with the participation of family members. This year, due to the difficult situation, the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine has increased the number of online projects on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, so that even in the conditions of quarantine, Ukrainian Muslims maintain a sense of unity and can meet their spiritual needs," the press service of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine reports.

The Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine has also organized a system of distribution of food packages for Muslims to hold iftars at home.

"The pandemic will not prevent the celebration of Ramadan by Ukrainian Muslims, it will just change the format. We take into account quarantine measures and will conduct iftars in the chamber at home. This will serve to strengthen intra-family relations," commented on the situation the press Secretary of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Yurchenko Ekaterina.
