Representatives of the Pontifical Council managing humanitarian initiatives of the Holy See have arrived to Kyiv. This visit is to facilitate the project of assistance to Ukraine.
On Monday, Secretary of the Pontifical Council Monsignor Giampietro dal Toso and Giovanni Bianchini (member) studied the situation in Ukraine, spoke to Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki, the President of the Conference of the Episcopate of Ukraine, His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), Patriarch of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and representatives of non-Catholic churches. The meetings with representatives of Caritas foundation, (the Roman Catholic Church and the UGCC), government agencies in the field of social policy and the UN have also been scheduled for this day, April 26.
In addition, they are set to visit Pushcha Voditsa, where the IDPs live. There will be also a prayer before the memorable sign to the victims of the Chernobyl disaster on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy, the Catholic Media-Center reports.
